So not to upsell you, but...

Whether because of past requests or personal interest, I've grown to include a bunch of fun services over the years. Please note, because these services require help from additional pros, they aren't eligible for the sliding scale.

Livestreaming

Yes, you read that right. While it might feel like a bit of a silly idea at first glance, livestreaming your wedding isn't just for the influencers among us. After watching a cousin's wedding via zoom during the pandemic (in which the venue just put a laptop in the front row), I figured there had to be a better way to include friends and family from afar.

Enter, Eventlive

We don't gatekeep here! Eventlive is a great tool that, for a low price, gives you an event streaming solution for 24 hours. Each guest enjoys a private viewing experience via a single link, complete with a digital guestbook and links to any websites (like a wedding registry, or vendor tip jar) that you want to include. Plus, you have a recording of the ceremony after all is said and done. All right onboard your smartphone!

So, if Eventlive is so accessible, why should we pay you to livestream?

I'm so glad you asked! While Eventlive is a powerful tool on its own, it can't pan & zoom your camera or magically pick up what folks are saying at the altar. That's where I come in; a professional videographer will be on hand to operate the camera and monitor the livestream feed; we'll use my professional wireless audio system to "Mic Up" the officiant so the viewers at home can hear your vows clearly; and if you choose, we can upgrade the recording device from an iPhone to a pro camera with a long lens, so that camera op can go behind your guests, not in the front row.

Will you be upset if my family does the livestream themselves?

Not at all! I'm even happy to help you get the stream up & running. But remember, audio is everything, and without a microphone system you will likely wind up with a recording that is mostly ambient noise. Just know you've been warned!

2nd Shooters

I don't want to be extra, wouldn't it be silly to have more than one photographer?

I totally get that concern! Especially if you're also hiring a videographer, the idea of 3-4 imaging pros at your wedding can be daunting. That being said, assistant photographers ("2nd shooters" in industry lingo) can provide a ton of flexibility and added value to your coverage.

Let's see some ways a 2nd shooter can help on your wedding day:

During The Ceremony

When I'm working on my own, I have to find a spot for the big moments (processional, vows, the kiss) and stick to it. For example, your processional photos will look like this:

But when I'm working with a 2nd shooter, we plan our  movements ahead of time to ensure we have multiple angles on each moment, which looks like this:

With a 2nd shooter in the mix, we were able to snag a beautiful close-up portrait of the bride, a wide shot of her mom & sister in the moment, and an environmental portrait of the groom showing the Richmond skyline. All in less than 15 seconds!

Getting Ready

& Wedding Party Photos

Not everyone has the budget for 10 hours of wedding day coverage, which can make things hard when you both want your full experiences captured. While by myself, I typically require a full 2.5 hours of time before the ceremony starts to capture getting ready and wedding party photos (and sometimes first looks) for both sides of the aisle. With a 2nd shooter, however, we can split up and each cover one side, shortening the time period needed by at least an hour!

Since my packages are based on 2-hour blocks, tightening your timeframe by paying for a 2nd shooter can be cheaper than needing to upgrade your entire package!

First Looks

& Cocktail Hours

These big opportunities for candid moments are great for showing off one of the other advantages of having two photographers on hand - splitting between the wedding as a whole and your closest connections!

Your first look, truly a moment to remember, will have both your reactions fully covered.

Cocktail parties, on the other hand, allow us to divide and conquer. We want to make sure the whole experience gets the attention it deserves - whether you're being reunited with your college roommates or your mom is doing a round of shots with your cousins.

Pricing

Here's a peek behind the industry curtain: 2nd shooting for a wedding can really, really suck sometimes. Standard rates are between $50-75/hr with many lead photographers taking a cut out of the service fee they charge.

I've committed to not undervaluing my 2nd shooters, so here are my rates:

$100/hr*

For non-package bookings

and custom quotes

$75/hr*

Additional coverage for packages that include 2nd shooter hours

*plus Richmond GST and applicable travel costs

Everything you pay for second shooter coverage goes straight to the vendor; please note that editing twice the amount of pictures may extend gallery delivery time

The Portrait Booth

It Ain't a Photobooth,

don't get it twisted

Ok, ok. A little pretentious much?

But there are plenty of photobooth companies out there, and I didn't want to be just another person with an iPad, a ring light, and a bunch of cheap Amazon props.

so what makes it

a "Portrait" booth?

Great question (dang, you're smart)!

A few things:

  • An actual human who also happens to be an experienced portrait photographer
  • Professional studio lighting, backdrops, and monitors to display images immediately
  • A modern camera that takes photos ready for wall-size and wallet-size prints alike
  • Immediate, on-site printing of 4x6s, so your guests can go home with a keepsake
  • Handcrafted props by @unsunnydispatches, with custom offerings to match your style
